My little secret…

I don’t talk about this much.

My husband didn’t believe me when I told him, but it’s true:

I’m an introvert.

Sure, I love meeting new people. And wearing pink high heels. And I am a sucker for dancing anytime, anywhere.

But I always have to be aware of how much energy I’m using up and building in time to decompress.

Especially after a three day workshop or even an hour-long networking event, I need a little me time.

Here are my top 5 go-to down time activities:

1. taking a loooooooong bubble bath and trying not to think about a thing…

2. reading a decorating magazine. I love to get inspired, and got addicted to these mags as we were going through our latest renovation {speaking of bubble baths, this is my absolute favorite part of the remodel!}:

Now I just relish even five minutes a week looking at how others have created their spaces.

3. taking a walk each morning outside {with or without my baby}. It is just so important for me to breathe in some fresh air at least once a day, especially since I work from home!

4. arranging flowers. There’s something positively zen about this practice for me. My goal is to do it once a week. {pssst: if you’ve been following me on facebook you know just how much I love flowers!}

5. stalking hot travel spots. I’ve always loved exploring and even though having a six-month-old keeps me home in Austin more, a girl can dream about future trips to Bali, Morocco, or the Croatian coast.

Now, I’m always looking for new ways to rejuvenate, so I’d really love to hear how YOU decompress. What are the treats you add in every day or week to center? How do you spoil yourself?

Dish!

    Not a very good practice to have but shopping is my precious me time…along with baking and coloring matras! I am fascinated by them, they get me into a hypnosis state.
